Bigger News for Idea Den

As of January 1st, Idea Den is now a subsidiary of the Bigger Picture Group (BPG). This acquisition is pivotal part of the future of Idea Den and BPG.

BPG is a merchant music company that focuses on partnering with artists and the connection with their fan bases. They provide the services they need with people who are at top of their skillsets. Recently they helped launch the Zac Brown Band from an local band to a worldwide success.

The pairing of Idea Den and BPG makes senses on so many levels, but the key items are:

  • Providing additional opportunities for current and future clients.
  • Providing additional resources to allow more time time with clients.
  • Alignment of like-minded companies that believe that at the core, the artist can drive their own futures when surrounded by experienced and like-minded professionals.
More news to follow and a new site is coming. Love to have you over to our new office in Berry Hill to drink some good coffee and talk about possibilities.

Thanks, Dale Manning

Third Day and Chris Biggs win GRAMMY

It was a doubly good day at the GRAMMY's this year! Not only did Third Day win a GRAMMY for their Live Revelation disc...our own Chirs Biggs won a copy for himself because he helped press the "record" button on the live project! Now he is just "GRAMMY Award Winning Chris Biggs".

The power of Twitter to sell music

I have been working with Mandy Moore for several years now. Her career, on the music side, has been the tale of many directions. She came out of the gate with multi-platinum albums of Pop-Candy sweetness. It matched her youth. As she has matured, so has her musical tastes...which lead her to release "Wild Hope" a year and half ago. Wild Hope is a simple but powerful album that got the critics to stand up and take notice...but didn't really translate in to album sales. So, Mandy went back to make her next foray into "her" music stylings. She has produced "Amanda Leigh"...which comes out today (and is really good)....but the real story stared many months ago.

I convinced her and her manager that Twittering would be worth it. A year earlier...we got her to blog...she saw incremental growth and benefit...she engaged in it..and it brought some great returns...but not stellar. Now with Twitter...it jumped from 0 to 4000 followers in two weeks...not bad...but not great. As she got the hang of Twittering and seeing the instant results that her participation brought...she Twittered more....and more.

She Twittered enough, that she started adding 5,000 people a day.... This level of Twittering got Twitter interested....and they added her as a default friend for all new subscribers...this helped us add 25,000 followers a day! Now at nearly 500,000 followers....and we launched a 1 day only pre-sale on Amazon...straight to number 1. Now...the $3.99 price sure helped...but within hours....we passed Green Day's new album, Rod Stewart and the Grateful Dead's new offerings.
